This article provides an overview of the inRiver functionality that allows you to collaborate with other inRiver users in an efficient way.
Collaborating in inRiver
Working with product enrichment is a team effort, often including several teams or people. Throughout this process, the different team members are assigned tasks that need to be performed for the product enrichment to be completed.
To facilitate shared work and collaboration, inRiver users can share work areas and create tasks with linked entities for themselves, another team member, or a group (role).
The collaboration features provide a flexible approach where the team or individual team member can create a working structure, workflow, and approval process that is tailored to how the organization works, as well as to how team members manage personal responsibilities and tasks.
This approach and the flexible workspace make product marketers more efficient and teams more dynamic.
Work areas, Tasks and Comments are described in detail below.
When you search for information in inRiver, either by using the Quick Search or the Query Editor, your search results are listed in a Work area.
You can save a Work area by clicking the work area navigation menu, see screenshot below. Save your work areas in the Common Shared folder if you want to share them with other users.

Tasks make it possible to manually define actions to be taken. You can create a task for a single Entity or a group of entities directly from a Work area or a search result view.

Task with Multiple Entities
If you want to include more than one Entity in the task, select the entities you want to connect to the task, go to the Work area navigation menu and select Create task.
Tasks with a Single Entity
If you want to create a Task that only includes a single Entity, open the entity card navigation menu or the entity view navigation menu and select Create task.
Creating a Task
When you create a task you usually start by giving it a name. You can then assign the task to one or more specific user(s) or to a predefined group.
You can set a due date, set status to any of the predefined values (New, Open, Resolved, Rejected, Closed, etc). If you want, you can set the priority of the task, and estimate the completion date of the task.
The available fields on a task depends on how your marketing model is designed.
Note! If you cannot find the user you want to assign a task to, make sure that the user has logged in to inRiver. You cannot assign a task to a user that have never logged in to the system.
If you want your colleagues to know something about a particular Entity, you can add comments on the entity.

Click the Edit icon in the upper right corner of the entity and select Comments. This opens a panel where you can create new comments and view previous comments.
You can also delete a single comment or delete the entire comments thread.
Note! You must have appropriate user rights to be able to add, edit and delete comments on an entity. Read more about user management in this article.
Each entity type (such as Product, Item, or Resource) needs its own specific set of attributes for attracting a potential customer. To make the entity type or a group of entity types ready for publishing in your sales channels, you usually need to complete a number of steps.
The Completeness levels in inRiver makes it easy for you as a user to see the steps to be completed, follow the work in progress, and ensure that the work all the way from e.g. Product group down to the relevant level is done. It also enables teams to work in parallel processes, and keep track by monitoring the progress of the enrichment work and watching the color coding (red-orange-green) indicating the Completeness level.
